Embrace a Street Child

VOL 5 – ISSUE 4

Juja Park Day

In August, Embrace had the opportunity to go on a small field trip. All the Children’s homes from around our area came together for a day of games and different competitions. The event brought together approximately 750 children representing 30 different children’s organizations. This was great for the boys to go and be able to associate with different kids with similar life situations.

Hope at Embrace

Every boy’s case is so different at Embrace. Sometimes, as hard and as long as we look for any potential family for a boy, it seems hopeless, and their case seems like it’s not progressing in any way. Well, we had three such cases: Raphael, John, and Johnson. These boys have been at Embrace longer than expected due to the inability to trace family or because the family they have is just not quite capable or willing to support the child. But God works in amazing ways and opened a door for these boys to leave Embrace in a way we could never even think of. God made it possible for them to go to an all-boys home that is sponsoring their education. This home helps boys get off the streets and ensures they get to go to school. It’s a wonderful example of how God works in ways we could never imagine. We’re so grateful for this opportunity, and we hope Raphael Yakobo, John Waithaka, and Johnson Wachira thrive in their new home and school.

Placements this Season

Along with John Waithaka, Raphael Yakobo and Johnson Wachira we also were able to place Barack Kaluka, Elvis Mpapale, Gordo Hassan and Jackton Abundo back home to their families.

Activities at Embrace

One of the favorite things the boys enjoy is showing off their talents, and they have plenty to show. In July, Palina hosted three different talent shows where the boys were able to express their talents through drawing, coloring, and their favorite, putting on dramas.

How God is working at Embrace

The past couple of months have been a time of immense joy as we’ve witnessed the amazing and miraculous transformation taking place in the lives of our boys. Elvis Mpapale, Alex Chege, John Waithaka, Brandon Gakung’a, Erick Mukono, and Alex Musyoki all expressed their desire to know God more deeply and understand Christ’s incredible work on the cross. After seeking and trying to understand the gospel, they decided to surrender their lives to Christ as their Savior and Lord. It has been a privilege to witness their remarkable journey in understanding and embracing God’s saving grace. In addition, since Brian Mwangi’s baptism, he has been meeting twice a week for one-on-one discipleship sessions. These meetings have allowed us to see Brian’s noticeable growth in Christ. We attribute all the glory and praise to God for these incredible, life-changing transformations.

Prayer Requests

Please continue to pray for our boys currently at Embrace, that they may no longer see the streets as the solution to all their problems but instead come to understand the gospel and find salvation. Continue to pray for the boys at home. Although they face many challenges in their home environments, may they persist in remaining at home and draw encouragement from what they have learned at Embrace. Furthermore, the Embrace team is in the process of planning a camping trip. Please pray for our team to find the opportunity to rest, bond, be encouraged, and motivated to return and serve our boys for the glory of God.
